Officials: N.C. airport in dire need of $19M runway rehab

The Laurinburg-Maxton Airport, in North Carolina, is in dire need of a $19.2 million runway rehabilitation project, said the airport's director at a meeting. The runway, which is more than a half century old, is in such bad shape that some pilots are choosing not to land there, and with business being lost, the overhaul is essential to the local economy.
