Study: Industry performance improves as passenger counts decline

Passenger numbers may have dropped in 2008, but airline performance was up on a variety of metrics, according to an annual study. Passenger complaints fell to 1.15 per 100,000, compared with 1.42 the previous year. The 17 largest airlines also showed improved on-time performance and a decrease in mishandled bags.
