Analysis: NYC slot swap benefits airlines, public

Many of the slots at LaGuardia Airport are underutilized, with small aircraft making multiple flights each day to small- and medium-sized cities. If regulators approve a slot exchange between Delta and US Airways, the carriers would benefit, and so would the public, because Delta has said it would use bigger aircraft and serve more cities.
