Column: Feeling like a tool at airport security

Entrepreneur Barbara Kavovit says her tools are "functional and pretty," but that doesn't always get her a pass from airport security. Kavovit, who designs tools for women, says she always travels with samples in her carry-on bag. Though she claims to know the rules -- no more than 7 inches long, no hammers, etc. -- Kavovit says the reaction by Transportation Security Administration screeners can vary widely. "I've probably left thousands of dollars' worth of tools with security agents," she says. "I hope they and their families are enjoying them."
