Gifted students launch rockets to coincide with shuttle liftoff

Students in a gifted-and-talented program at a Hawaii elementary school constructed and launched rockets to coincide with Monday's liftoff of the space shuttle Discovery at Florida's Kennedy Space Center. The students -- in grades three through five -- began the project in January, studying Newton's Third Law of Motion as they built the mechanical components of their rockets.
