Heart study is under way in Texas

Researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston are conducting a trial that will use laboratory tests, exercise treadmill stress tests and cardiac PET scans on patients with heart disease risk factors and symptoms or documented coronary heart disease to compare two treatment strategies. The study, which currently involves about 100 patients, aims to eventually have 1,300 participants.
