IPhone app helps consumers avoid food allergens

Helping consumers avoid allergic reactions to foods is the focus of an iPhone application from bar code administrator GS1 Australia. The software, a collaborative result from GS1, Nestle and Deakin University, scans food-product bar codes to inform consumers of allergens such as wheat, egg, peanuts and shellfish.
