Missouri city seeks to close general aviation airport

St. Clair, Mo., would like to close the city's municipal airport, pending approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. According to Mayor Ron Blum, the deteriorating airport cannot compete with newer airports in neighboring counties. However, the FAA would have to approve the airport's closure because it received federal grant money for maintenance and repairs.
