More pets are not receiving routine veterinary care amid recession

The unstable economy is taking a toll on pets as more owners opt not to provide their pets with routine veterinary care to cut back on expenses. However, vets say giving up vaccinations, heartworm medication and other routine treatments can lead to more sick pets, which means more expenses in the long run.
