Study: Soy fails to cut bad cholesterol in post-menopausal women

Eating more soy won't help post-menopausal women lower their cholesterol, scientists say. The finding contradicts earlier studies that indicated soy's estrogenlike substances helped women. Scientists said those studies were short, while the most recent one investigated soy's effects on women for a year. While women's good, or HDL, cholesterol levels increased, the soy had no effect on their bad, or LDL, levels.
