CFTC and FDIC will consider swaps proposals next week

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the board of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. are scheduled to meet separately Tuesday to consider proposals mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act related to the swaps industry. The CFTC will look at a proposed rule regarding margin requirements on uncleared swaps for swaps dealers and major swaps participants. The FDIC will discuss a proposal governing margin and capital requirements in swaps deals.
