Nando's founder-CEO has U.S. expansion plan

South Africa-based grilled-chicken brand Nando's Peri Peri is one of the world's largest fast-casual chains, with almost 1,000 eateries in several countries, but the brand only recently began its push to woo U.S. consumers with three Washington, D.C.-area locations and three more planned. In this interview, founder and CEO Robbie Brozin talks about what's different in the U.S. "You have to look at the economics of the American market, where there's a lot more wealth. We couldn't do a restaurant like our D.C. restaurants in South Africa. If we spent $1 million for restaurants there, it'd be for 10 restaurants, not one."
