Seniors represent a growing segment of workforce

Employment for Americans 55 and older has increased by 3.9 million since December 2007, while total employment fell by 4.2 million during that time. More older workers are putting off retirement because of shrinking investments and changes in Social Security benefits. In February, older workers represented 65% of the total 428,000 jobs added to the workforce, according to the Labor Department.
