Retailers look to grab share of mobile payments market

Retailers are joining banks, card companies and tech firms in the mobile payments market, hoping to cut transaction costs and boost loyalty. In the U.S., Starbucks has offered mobile payments for several years, and Wal-Mart, Target and Best Buy are among retailers who have announced plans to create a joint mobile wallet service.
