Many high schoolers tackle college coursework

According to the first federal estimates on dual enrollment, about 813,000 high school students, or 1 in 20, took college courses in 2002-03, a percentage that would be even higher if only juniors and seniors were considered. Studies found almost every community college and most four-year public institutions had high schoolers enrolled in their courses.
