Last week's scrutiny of the FAA's airline transport oversight system included testimony by DOT Inspector General Calvin Scovel, who said that the "FAA properly recognizes that AD [airworthiness directive] compliance is a vulnerability." The FAA has announced initiatives that will address the issues raised regarding its oversight program.
