Arctic winter ice the lowest on record

New data retrieved from satellites reveal Arctic ice is melting more rapidly than previously thought, with accumulated winter ice sheets the lowest on record. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the U.S. will recommend Arctic states -- including the U.S., Norway, Russia, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland -- agree to common cutbacks on emissions that contribute to global warming and endanger Arctic ice. The entire summer Arctic ice cap is predicted to disappear as early as 2015.
