Indiana state superintendent proposes bold goals

In the next four years, Indiana schools chief Tony Bennett wants to increase the statewide graduation rate from 78% to 90% and help 90% of students pass state tests in English and math, an increase from the current rates of 72% and 75%, respectively. "We will have to create a statewide culture of academic excellence," Bennett said. "Anything less than the best in the country isn't good enough."
