Blue-chip firms back out of bank lawsuits

Large law firms are being forced to pass on potentially lucrative suits against banks because of conflict-of-interest ethics rules. A growing number of cases are going to small and midsize firms that don't have a track record of representing banks. Some frustrated lawyers are jumping from large firms to smaller law shops to hold onto potential clients.
