Commentary: Regulatory changes cloud race to be top financial hub

Z/Yen Group's most recent Global Financial Centres report shows that London and New York are on even footing, after the City lost its lead over the US financial hub. Going forward, it will be difficult to predict which city will emerge from the financial crisis and its aftermath as the pre-eminent global financial centre, columnist John Plender writes. Between the UK national election, legislation making its way through the US Congress and other changes, too much uncertainty remains to make a determination, Plender notes.
