Flight testing for NASA's mini X-Plane successful

Engineers from NASA and Boeing have successfully completed a test flight of the small-scale version of the X-48B, a blended-wing body design that could represent an efficient new airliner of the future. The design gives the fuselage a significant role in the lift, and with most passengers placed in the aircraft's large center section, the plane could burn much less fuel than current designs.
