Hewlett-Packard is set to outline a chip breakthrough

Hewlett-Packard researchers say they have reached a breakthrough on the development of memory resistors, which could lead to far greater density of storage via three-dimensional arrays and could offer opportunities for brainlike computing. "Not only do we think that in three years we can be better than the competitors," HP's Stan Williams said. "The memristor technology really has the capacity to continue scaling for a very long time, and that's really a big deal."
