PETNet releases 1st batch of Alzheimer's disease imaging agent

PETNet Solutions, a unit of Siemens Healthcare, has undertaken the first shipment of florbetapir, a molecular imaging agent from Avid Radiopharmaceuticals that is used to image the brain's beta-amyloid deposits, which are associated with Alzheimer's disease. The imaging agent is being tested in clinical trials involving U.S. and European patients suspected to have Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment.
