Poll shows 49% U.S. residents support high-speed rail

Nearly half of U.S. residents support the Obama administration's investment in high-speed rail, according to Angus Reid Public Opinion, a Canadian polling company. About one-third reported they would rather take rail than drive or fly; just a quarter of respondents oppose the high-speed rail initiative.
