Teachers offer suggestions to help boys read

Researchers and teachers in Ohio and Kentucky suggest several ways to improve reading among boys -- who typically lag behind their female classmates. Their suggestions include altering required reading for boys, giving boys more choice, asking parents to encourage boys to read at home, putting a greater emphasis on teaching reading comprehension and assigning additional writing in middle and high school.
