Study links metabolic syndrome to liver cancer

Researchers learned that patients with hepatocellular carcinoma or intrahepatic carcinoma were more than twice as likely to be diagnosed with metabolic syndrome as those without liver cancer. The lead researcher said the increase in incidence for liver cancer might be due in part to rising rates of diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome.
