Firm unveils plans for privately funded Dallas-to-Houston bullet train

Texas Central Railway wants to build a high-speed train line between Dallas and Houston for a bullet train. The final route will influence the cost, currently estimated at $10 billion to $12 billion. The entire project will be privately funded. The company has started its environmental impact study, which could take up to three years to complete. Construction of the line could take about four to five years, and the plan is to have the bullet train operational by 2021.
