Study links diabetes to increased pancreatic cancer risk

An analysis of data from 88 studies found that people with diabetes were two times more likely to develop pancreatic cancer than those who didn't have the condition. Researchers also found that the risk of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer was sevenfold higher within the first year of diabetes diagnosis. The study, which failed to establish a causal link between the diseases, was published in Annals of Surgical Oncology.
