Taco Bell is continuing its breakfast battle against McDonald's with an ad that uses the "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" tune to make McDonald's options seem stale. The spot shows a McDonald's fan stuck in 1980s culture, who eventually comes to realize that Taco Bell is the breakfast of the future. "We have to do things to grab attention. We're trying to position ourselves as the next generation of breakfast," Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt said.
