FCC Official Warns Cable To Accept Plan

An FCC official warned Friday that the cable industry would strain good relations with the agency unless it adopts chairman Michael Powell's four-year digital TV transition plan. The plan calls for cable operators with 750 MHz of channel capacity to offer five high-definition TV signals. They also must offer one set-top box in which to receive and view the programming.
