Acer says Android not ready for netbook

Google's Android operating system is not ready for prime time on the new netbook computers, executives at Acer said Tuesday, even as they disclosed Android would be their software of choice for the computer maker's new smartphone. An Acer executive also hinted that it would use Verizon Wireless' network as the carrier on the company's new line of netbooks.
