Once a sure-fire way to reduce labor costs, IT outsourcing has largely stagnated over the past six months because of the uncertain economy, according to this article. Renegotiating deals often means signing up for longer contracts than before, increasing the risk of a bad deal. What's more, chain-outsourcing -- where once-stalwart outsourcing countries such as India or China send their own IT work offshore -- can increase the risks.
