NJ Transit has deal for management of rail tunnel construction

NJ Transit progressed further toward building a commuter rail tunnel to New York City by signing a $34 million contract with a construction management company. CM Consortium of Newark will review designs for the proposed tunnel, which some critics say is too costly at $8.7 billion. The tunnel would double the number of passengers who currently commute to Manhattan from New Jersey.
