Skyscrapers set record in 2008, despite economic downturn

More skyscrapers were completed in 2008 than in any other year, according to a study by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. It is not unusual for skyscrapers to open during economic downturns because it generally takes many years for a building to move from the design phase to the end of construction, according to authors of the study. CTBUH expects another record year for skyscrapers in 2009.
