Calif. district reports progress on mental-health services for students

A special-education administrator in California's Monterey County says progress is being made toward improving mental-health services for students as required by the state in response to a 2009 complaint. The complaint prompted an investigation that found some students were not getting access to necessary services. "We take the issue seriously; we want to make sure all the children receive services they're entitled to," the district superintendent said.
