Column: Agents must ensure they're working for clients

Chuck Flagg, an independent owner/operator of Cruise Holidays in Canton, Ga., says travel agents should focus on finding suppliers that provide the best service or product for their individual clients instead of trying to find a vendor that pays the agent a commission. "When a client engages your services, who are you working for?" Flagg asks. "If a client fits of a certain profile, does it make any sense at all to recommend something because it pays a commission or maybe even a bonus commission if that client won't enjoy the experience?"
