EPA: Calif. landfill improperly stored PCBs; has 60 days to fix problems

The Environmental Protection Agency has told Waste Management that its hazardous-waste landfill outside Kettleman, Calif., is in violation of disposal rules for polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, which is found in transformers and coolants. The company has 60 days to fix the problems, or the EPA will stop shipping PCBs to the landfill. The company could be fined, the EPA said.
