Social-review site Yelp has been forced to "lift the veil" on its review-filtering system after claims that it had given preferential treatment to its advertisers. Yelp strongly denied any wrongdoing, but still took swift action to assuage its users' concerns -- and that holds a valuable lesson for all businesses, writes Chris Cameron. "Regardless of the merit of these claims, Yelp seems bent on securing the trust of their users, a practice every startup should mimic," he notes.
