More than 20 lawn mower firms settle class action suit

A lawsuit against more than 20 lawn mower makers for allegedly putting different labels on identical engines and selling them at significantly different prices was settled. Under the settlement, consumers who are part of the case can submit forms to receive $35 for every eligible walk-behind lawnmower they own and $75 for every eligible ride-on mower. Owners of Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Tecumseh, TecumsehPower, Kawasaki and Kohler mowers, all under a manufacturer's warranty when purchased, can receive a one-year warranty extension.
