A National Board Certified Teacher says she briefly considered whether to renew her certification recently as she reflected on the economic climate and the stalled professional reforms for which she has hoped. Mary Tedrow, a past Fellow of the Teacher Leaders Network, writes that she quickly decided to renew her certification and not give up. "I've waited for our profession to shift for 27 years. I don't want to wait for change anymore. I want to shape it. And if being an NBCT means I might have a voice in that arena, then I want to be an NBCT, now and into my retirement," she writes.
