Oklahoma House panel clears workers' comp reform legislation

An Oklahoma House committee voted in favor of a bill that would revamp the state's workers' compensation court and system. The legislation seeks to limit the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Court to eight members and permanently assign five judges to the Oklahoma City court and three to the Tulsa court. "These simple changes would add more accountability to the workers' compensation court, which will lead to lower costs overall for our businesses and streamlined services for injured workers," said one lawmaker.
