Special-education staffers face cuts under Iowa district's budget

Budget cuts in one Iowa school district will mean increased class sizes and fewer special-education teachers' assistants if the school board approves the district's $164.3 million budget proposal. The special-education cuts, which include eliminating the equivalent of 13 full-time special-education teachers and 45 assistants -- would save the district an estimated $1.6 million.
