Study: PET bottles are better for environment than glass, aluminum

The life cycle of disposable polyethylene bottles has fewer environmental effects compared with aluminum or glass bottles because PET bottle production consumes less energy and produces fewer greenhouse emissions and less solid waste, according to a study funded by the PET Resin Association. "This study again confirms the excellent environmental profile and value of PET for packaging foods and beverages," said Ralph Vasami, the association's executive director.
