The U.S. Pacific Coast could learn valuable lessons from the earthquake in Chile, as the regions share similar geography and building codes. Some experts suggest that California needs to do more to prepare for quake-caused tsunamis and that all jurisdictions in the state "rigorously enforc[e] building codes."
