Study finds racial disparity in diabetes care for veterans

An assessment in Health Affairs of 1.2 million Veterans Affairs health system enrollees between 2000 and 2009 found up to a 9% discrepancy on diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure measurements between white and black veterans. The lead researcher said the reasons for the disparities are unknown and additional studies are needed.
