Texas school district turns to propane to tackle budget shortfall

A school district near Austin, Texas, is switching to propane-powered buses to save cash and help plug a budget deficit. The Eanes Independent School District has received a $2.2 million grant to buy propane buses and expects to save about $100,000 a year in fuel and maintenance expenses. "Every dollar we can save here we can put towards children," said district transportation chief Tim Wysong.
