JOBS Act eases Sarbanes-Oxley requirements on small companies

Smaller companies are getting a break from Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, thanks to the newly passed Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act. The JOBS Act exempts newer, growing companies from requirements of the section for as long as five years. Critics say Section 404's internal-controls requirements are too burdensome, especially on smaller companies.
