W.Va. districts test cooking with fresh ingredients

School nutrition professionals in seven West Virginia counties are cooking breakfast and lunch each day using fresh ingredients as part of a pilot program that offers the meals for free. Since the program began in September, officials say the number of students eating breakfast at school has almost doubled. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has congratulated the state for the initiative, which is aimed at healthy cooking to help curb obesity.
