Harris Poll hints at the beginning of a restaurant recovery

Some 90% of American consumers dined out at least once during a month-long period earlier this year, with 54% eating at a local casual restaurant, 52% at a casual chain and 64% at a quickservice chain, while significantly fewer people ate at at fine-dining establishments, according to a Harris poll taken in mid-February. Respondents ranked price, their mood and specific menu items as the top factors for choosing a restaurant.
