School roof projects at Conn. city could exceed $1.75M budget

Roof replacement projects at three elementary schools in Manchester, Conn., could exceed the $1.75 million budget designated for them. The roofs leak, and all have surpassed their 20-year lifespan. The initial estimates may have omitted masonry work to seal the roofs and relied on waivers that would exempt school roofs from the 1/2-inch requirement on pitch.
